FAQ 2018 Making A Change Scholarships
Q: Is the Application Submission Deadline June 15, 2018?
A: The application deadline has been extended from June 15, 2018 to June 22, 2018 11:59pm.
 
Q: Do I have to live on the west side or in the west suburbs to be eligible to apply?
A: No, all Illinois High School Seniors are eligible (graduated or will graduate in 2018).

Q: Do you have to major in the arts?
A: No, WSCDC scholarships are open to all Illinois High School Seniors.
2018 Scholarships: 12 of 15 scholarships will be awarded to 'arts' specific disciplines, 3 scholarships will be awarded to 'general' education/training.

Q: When do I find out if I was named a winner?
A: All scholarship finalist will be notified by June 29, 2018 via phone and/or email with directions regarding next steps. Winners will be finalized after all verification documentation has been received by WSCDC; upon receipt of all documentation all scholarship recipients (winners) will be contacted by July 9, 2018 via phone and/or email. Verification documentation is due by July 6, 2018.

Q: If I win, does the money go directly to me or the institution?
A: Money will be sent to the institution, exceptions may apply.

Q: Do I need to have been accepted into a school or program?
A: Yes, proof of acceptance/enrollment will be verified before release of scholarship funds.
​
Q: Can I use the award for a training program?
A: Yes, funds can be used towards any post-secondary education or training program.
​
Q: Can I use the money for travel, supplies or books.
A: Scholarship funds can be used for post-secondary tuition, supplies and books.
